This past month has been a little nuts. My 5 year old computer decided it was time to call it quits, so I had to get a new one. The process of finding out that my computer was no longer fixable and getting a new one took about 2 weeks, which meant I had a lot of catching up to do. But all is well now, I have a new lovely computer, I am finally all caught up! (special thanks to all my very patient clients!) And now I can sit and enjoy the new gear. One of the good things that came out of this ordeal was that I was FORCED to just stop working. I enjoyed being outdoors with the kids, getting the yard ready for spring and just turning off my brain for a few days. Amazing. I owe my old computer a big thank you. I hope to get a little more balance now, between work and rest. I am sure those of you who are freelancers or business owners can relate to this feeling. It’s hard to just stop, not think about “the next thing”. The guilt or worry that comes with having free time “I should be working, or planning for the next contract!”
Here are two headers I was using on my Facebook page, I think they describe my thoughts on “taking a minute” perfectly. There will be a third soon.
Until then, take care, go take a break and breath in some fresh air!
